- Jack Bechta
Professional Background NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor since 1986 Registered Financial Consultant, 1985-2005 Licensed Real Estate Agent, 1983-1989 Licensed Insurance Representative, 1985-2005 Managed over $50 million as a Financial Consultant Retirement Specialist 1986-1990 Founded JB Sports, Inc. in 1991 College Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M-Kingsville Double Major, Finance & Real Estate Full football and academic scholarship Graduated with Honors in 1985 By the Numbers 20 current active clients 250 NFL contracts signed 1st through 7th round picks represented 5 NFL record-setting contracts Biography Born and raised in the Philadelphia, PA area, Jack grew up playing all sports until he earned a football scholarship to Texas A&M-Kingsville, where he played tight end while completing a double major in finance and real estate. Jack was exposed to nearly every aspect of professional football while in college, as many of his teammates and roommates were actively recruited by NFL teams. During his junior year, Jack actively got involved in screening agents for his teammates and even in the negotiation of signing bonuses. As a result, Texas A&M-Kingsville was an incredible classroom for Jack to learn the NFL player representation business. The college sent numerous players to the NFL, eight of which were selected in the first round of the NFL Draft – more than any other Division II school. Alumni include Hall of Fame offensive lineman and former President of the NFL Players Association Gene Upshaw, Green Bay defensive back Al Harris, Vikings superstar John Randall, Green Bay’s outstanding retired offensive lineman Earl Dotson, and the Philadelphia Eagles’ 1996 first round draft pick Jermane Mayberry. Dotson, Harris and Mayberry have all been represented by Jack. Jack graduated with honors in 1985 and accepted a position with E.F. Hutton, a top Wall Street investment firm. There he learned to manage money for some of the nation’s wealthiest individuals, including several NFL players. Recognizing football’s potential as an incredible entertainment medium, Jack relocated to San Diego, CA and began representing NFL players on a full-time basis in 1991. He built his clientele one client at a time by representing quality veterans and high draft picks from all over the country. For the last several years, JB Sports has steadily represented 20 to 25 players. Jack has no intention of growing JB Sports into the biggest agency in the business, just the best. He limits the number of new clients he signs each year to ensure managed growth and quality representation. In addition, Jack’s qualifications truly separate him from his competitors. Today, JB Sports Inc. has evolved into one of the industry’s most reputable agencies. JB Sports Inc. is recognized by players, general managers, coaches, negotiators, and media entities as a powerful deal-maker that consistently puts its clients’ best interests first and foremost.
